When you do something noble and beautiful and nobody notices, do not be sad. For the sun every morning is a beautiful spectacle and yet most of the audience still sleeps - John Lennon
It’s no secret that there is something inherently healthy and freeing about spending time outdoors. If you google ‘springtime’ or ‘outdoors’ article after article will pop up with all kinds of encouraging information about being outdoors. From the rise in vitamin D as sunlight hits your skin elevating your mood, to an increase in serotonin and concentration from your body being in motion; you will find list after list of endless, encouraging , wonderful benefits of nature.
For me, it is what nature does for my spirit that truly moves me. A long hike, a walk through my garden, planting flowers, mowing the grass (yes! mowing - it is my absolute favorite activity!) - these things allow me to disconnect from all the chaos and reconnect with my heart. It’s the only time my mind seems to be still and where I can truly appreciate all that is around me.
This weekend was so lovely as Jeff and I worked in Pappy Jacks Gardinia - cleaning the greenhouse, planting tomatoes and beans, and mowing the grass.
We hope you’ll come by and see us sometime soon!
